Adam Clarke Commentary:
I have now such a discovery of thee as I have never had before. I have only heard of thee by tradition, or from imperfect information; now the eye of my mind clearly perceives thee, and in seeing thee, I see myself; for the light that discovers thy glory and excellence, discovers my meanness and vileness.
John Wesley Notes:
The knowledge which I had of thy nature, perfections and counsels, was hitherto grounded chiefly, upon the instructions of men; but now it is clear and certain, as being immediately inspired into my mind by this thy glorious apparition and revelation, and by the operation of thy holy spirit; which makes these things as evident to me, as if I saw them with my bodily eyes. When the mind is enlightened by the spirit of God, our knowledge of Divine things as far exceeds what we had before, as knowledge by ocular demonstration, exceeds, that by common fame.
1599 Geneva Bible Notes:
I knew you only before by hearsay, but now you have caused me to feel what you are to me, that I may resign myself over to you.
Family Bible Notes:
I have heard of thee; he had had dark and indistinct views of God.

Now mine eye seeth thee; his views of God were more clear and distinct.

Closer views of the character and will of God, and right feelings towards him, will lead men to abhor their sins, and heartily to turn from them to him, whose favor is life, and whose loving-kindness is better than life.
Jamieson-Faucett-Brown:
Hearing of the ear-- (Ps 18:44, Margin). Hearing and seeing are often in antithesis (Job 29:11; Ps 18:8).

seeth--not God's face (Ex 33:20), but His presence in the veil of a dark cloud (Job 38:1). Job implies also that, besides this literal seeing, he now saw spiritually what he had indistinctly taken on hearsay before God's infinite wisdom. He "now" proves this; he had seen in a literal sense before, at the beginning of God's speech, but he had not seen spiritually till "now" at its close.

Pastor's New Sunday School Class

Greetings!

We started this new Sunday School Class at 10 a.m. each week. We'll meet outside in the pavilion, weather permitting -- otherwise in the fellowship hall by the donut table :) We'll experiment with the format each week... here's this Sunday's agenda:

Open with prayer
Brainstorm listing of current events, problems, activities, etc going on in the lives of those present
Discussion of how we are currently:
1. Doing no harm
2. Doing good
3. Using the means of grace (Private Prayer, Bible Study, Holy Communion, Christian Conversation, Public Worship)
Discussion of ideas & highlights of how the International Sunday School Lesson text for this week may (or may not) apply to what is going on in the personal lives of those present.
Ideas for improving the class structure and content next week
Closing prayer
Fellowship, Mingling, Eating, Leaving, Etc. in the Fellowship Hall
